Empowering Futures

Our commitment to the education system within our country holds immense significance. The Timbavati Foundation is proud to be recognized and affiliated with 64 schools situated in wildlife communities neighboring the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. Over the years, we have fostered strong, trusting relationships with community leadership structures.

Within our educational initiatives, our goal is to engage with learners from their early stages of development, commencing at the primary school level and extending into high school. We reward those who demonstrate their passion for conservation by offering valuable bursary opportunities to pursue further education.

Future Leaders Programme

Investing in tertiary education and work readiness for the youth in South Africa is paramount for fostering individual growth, economic development, and societal progress. As a nation, South Africa stands at a crucial juncture where the empowerment of its young minds holds the key to unlocking vast potential.

Tertiary education not only equips individuals with specialized knowledge and skills but also cultivates critical thinking, creativity, and adaptability essential for navigating a rapidly evolving global landscape.

Together with our world-class training provider partners, South African College for Tourism, Tracker Academy, Southern African Wildlife College and the MORE Field Guide College, we are able to provide at least 8 young underprivileged learners the opportunity to expand their futures and take a step into making a success.

Moreover, a focus on work readiness ensures that graduates are not only academically proficient but also equipped with the practical skills demanded by the contemporary job market. By investing in the education and work readiness of the youth, South Africa lays the foundation for a skilled and innovative workforce, driving economic prosperity and contributing to the overall well-being of the nation.

A big thank you to our conservation partners for their continued support in our Future Leaders Program.

To date, the Timbavati Foundation, through its partnerships, has successfully had 84 bursary students trained and 50% of these are currently employed or undertaking internships within their fields.
